You love each other. That’s not the question. The question is why the same conversation keeps ending the same way. Why you may feel so far from someone you chose. Why the distance has crept in so quietly that one day you looked up and realized neither of you quite knew how to close it.

Relationships are one of the most important places healing happens, and one of the hardest. Imago Relationship Therapy was built for exactly this.

What is Imago?

Imago is a structured, research-backed approach to couples & relationship therapy. At its heart, it’s about learning to really hear each other; not just the words, but what’s alive underneath them.

Most conflict in relationships isn’t really about what it’s about. It’s about older wounds, unmet longings, and the nervous system signaling that something deeper needs tending. Imago gives you both a way to have those conversations safely — where one person speaks and the other truly listens, without defensiveness getting in the way.

It’s not about assigning blame or relitigating the past. It’s about building a new way of being together — one where you both feel seen.

This Might Be For You If

  • You feel more like roommates than partners

  • You love each other but can’t seem to stop misunderstanding each other

  • You’ve grown distant and want to find your way back

  • You’re in a new relationship and want to build a strong foundation

  • You’re preparing for a major transition — marriage, a move, having children

  • You want to understand each other more deeply, not just resolve conflict

What Sessions Are Like

Sessions are structured and guided. I’ll walk you both through a way of speaking and listening that’s different from how most couples communicate. Often, that difference alone is where something cracks open.

Couples often leave sessions feeling received in a way they haven’t in years. That experience. Being truly seen by your partner, and seeing them in return, is what starts to rebuild the sacred ground between you.

About Joann

I’m Joann, and I believe relationships are one of the most powerful places healing can happen, when there’s enough safety to let them.

I bring warmth, steadiness, and a body-based lens to couples work. I’m not here to take sides. I’m here to help you both feel safe enough to let each other back in.

If you’re ready to try something different, I’d love to talk — with both of you.
